The property had been purchased owing to its location and the inherent opportunities for extending it into a larger property. As the options were being explored, it became clear that the brief would require a significant built addition. This then resulted in a completely new design that was sensitive to the original proportions and aesthetic especially on the front elevation. The internal layouts on three floors were dictated by the detailed and specific requirements of the client; however the conclusion of the elevational design was made after considering a series of sensitive options that were drawn to best relate with the existing.
